Also, if the outlet is a duplex and only 1 is switched, you will have to break the connection on the side of the outlet. If this is the case look at the old outlet and you will see that brass connection between the outlets is broken. You will need to do this to the new one. A small screwdriver worked back and forth with break the connection.I went through this, I can honestly say that I heard no difference in my system. Power of the Placebo.
