Also rail fuses are usually stadard or slow-blow. My speaker fuse is fast blow. This suggests to me that you might damage the speakers before before the rail fuses can act. In fact, I'd bet the rail fuses are thier more for the protection of the amp circuits and the safety of the owner than the speakers.I'd also bet you void any warranty if you mess with them. So the question is: is the sonic gain commenturate with the cost of repair to the speakers (and perhaps the the amp as well) multiplied by the probability that someday you will wish you had the fuse in. This depends on what you can afford. All I can add from personal experience is that the probability of dire events involving speakers and amps is definately greater than 0%.
