Thanks again for the ideas. In response to your Q1..I do not know if there was a connection to the light circuit in the outlet that I replaced, just four wires, two white and two black. As I said we never thought the two (outlet and wall light switch) were related.In answer to Q2 all power was turned off prior to replacing the outlet and not turned on until complete. I did not install any new switch. My firm belief is that the two are unconnected, but since the problem was first noticed not long after installing the outlet, I thought related somehow?????
