Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

Hi,
I am in process of building a speaker and I built the cabinets myself. Now I want to veneer them with real wood but I found difficulty of veneering the fronts/baffles. They have holes for woofer and tweeter and the holes are also countersunk to 3/16" which are the tough parts of veneering. There is no way that the trim bit can reach that area. What is the better way of doing that? Is building some kind of template the only way? I am thinking of cutting the veneer with a knife up to some point and then use a small sand drum to sand later, but it will take quite a bit of time of doing that! Any suggestion or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Raymond
PS: I think it would be better to cut those holes and countersink after veneering the whole thing, but it is too late now :-(
