Hi Douglas,
I have a philips Fr 940 receiver (philips aquired marantz and then marantz started looking like older philips gear).
If these are the same "binding posts" (won't accept a banana plug and don't have a hole in the middle....) they are actually screws - and you can unscrew them (you just have to really work at it.)
I found that the Parts Express Gold Plated Speaker Terminal works quite well as a direct screw in replacement(you have to remove the posts from the terminal cup). Once screwed in, you add some solder to get a good connection and you are good to go.I just did this last weekend and it worked great, but I was really just working with the parts I had lying around.
I could be wrong about the exact posts your receiver uses, and as always YMMV.
