One error in the article though. It says that the output impedance is HIGHEST with the volumne at max with a stepped attenuator or pot.Even if the pot itself has max impedance out, the device is "not in circuit" which means that the output impedance of a pot or stepped attenuator at max volume is the same as the source, slightly increasing for every step of attenuation.
