Well, we disagree on a bunch of stuff (maybe including the definitions of cascode and discrete), but as usual you've passed on some good and thought-provoking information. I'll be starting some CD player mods in a few months so will try out some of your ideas.Maybe I missed something about your implementation of the 431. How are you deriving the 6 or 10 volts for the common-base (or gate) transistor?
