Pure lead is quite poisonous IF you maintain skin contact with it, or get it on your fingers and then eat or smoke, etc. However, it does take prolonged and/or regular exposure in most cases to become a real problem.Normal soldering activities are not going to be that hazardous, just wash your hands after soldering.
Actually, inhaling the smoke from the solder resin is a lot worse, be sure to have adequate ventilation when soldering.
