there are some very fine stranded wires. Wellborne Labs carries Kimber hookup wire (the same stuff used in PBJ, in either braided or single conductor. This stuff is 20 awg very pure copper, with teflon insulation in your choice of color (red, black, or blue) and uses multiple strand sizes arranged in a way to reduce resonance. Teflon insulated wire is great for diy projects, because you don't burn the insulation unless you try, so you avoid the silliness of electrical tape wraps around your wiring to cover where you melted off the insulation with your iron. It's very easy stuff to work with, nice and flexible, though not limp, and in general very nice stuff. I've got some on order for a preamp (bottlehead Foreplay) rebuild, but I've worked with the stuff on ICs, and I love it. It's cheap too!
