Don't worry about it

If you are mounting the toroids inside the same case as the amp circuits, I'd go for the steel/Al. I don't know about yours, but my Gainclone toroids are damn heavy, and all Al would be right out in 19" wide. It would certainly bend with the transformers in it. If the toroid case was half that width, then all Al would probably be strong/rigid enough.

BTW, I'm not saying the case material doesn't matter, because it does. It's just that without doing a custom case, you have to live with what you can get. I'm surprised the all Al case is that much more expensive.
