Re: Can listening room cause 1K peak?

Thanks for responding. L is 21'6", W is 15'5", H is 10'4". Floor covered with thick chinese rugs over 40 oz hairfelt pad, ceiling is wood paneling over 12" vigas ( like the old stereophile listening room ), floors are brick, walls are adobe with plaster, doors are centered on the back wall, only two small windows near the ceiling on one side. The peak I noted has been present with floor to ceiling tubetraps in all four corners and without. First and second side reflection points are covered with 8" fiberglass panels 4" from the walls. Ceiling first reflection point also with 8" fiberglass panels. Adding these and removing these made no difference. Speakers and listener position are set up by RPG with slight modifications by listening. Have tried two different x-overs with the same effect. One by D'Appolito and the other by Perreault of e-Speakers. Speakers are accuton 2-92s, focal tlrs in MTM arrangement with cabinests of doubled mdf. They are mounted flush with the cabinet. Otherwise the speakers/room are quite flat. Fortunately the Tact eliminates this 1k peak. Any speculation would be appreciated. Joe Fagan
