You need to realize that for many, talking about the sound of components is very difficult concept to grasp and to understand.I kept things very simple, and related simple realworld linear errors that almost every one who has delved into DIY crossovers has experienced.
I then used this crossover component example as the basis for other shunt components. The original post was refwerrign to crossovers, and so what was posted was relevant and realworld parts aspects.
Yes, it is much more complex than simple component parasitics, and in order to appreciate and understand the OTHER more complex factors, we still have to start with the simpler and less confusing aspects.
Once someone gets the basic idea about shunt components, then they can usually go to the next infered step, and realize that the other apsects of parts quality will also be mirrored in a shunt component, and that shunt components are not without their problems too.
