Hi,The "noise" suggests that you have either set the Gain too high and/or too high levels or indeed too low a level. Try to keep any boost to less than 6db and see that you get enough signal into the Ultracurve. If the LED above the bypass switch blinks red on the noise you know you are overdriveing the DSP section, in this case take the level back.
I'd need to know more detail about the setup to comment in more detail.
