The 1.4 Ghz Pentium 4 chip, memory, etc, inside the IC, the only wire that connects from the die to the pin is pure gold. No exception, no copper, no silver.Do you think the multi-billion IC industry has a bunch of fools working for them ?
Those wire are so thin under the microscope, that I afraid my breathing would break them. Ever seen patch and jump done under the electronic microscope and solder is done by laser welding to melt the gold to the trace on the die. And it has to be carried out on a 'vibraplane' like platform to the envy of audiophiles....
