What power cord do you use? I have yet to decided. I'm thinking of PS Audio's mini lab cord. But even this one may not fit, unless I enlarge the small (3/8"?) thru hole on the chasis.

I take another close look last night. It is not easy to access the diode bridge (for B+) which are between top chasis and PCB. Look like I've have to desolder many wires to access the top of the PCB where diodes are mounted.

Now I probably know why CAV-50's preamp out sounds bad- the traces are right next to the diode bridge and bypass cap! Can't believe that's what they do...

Thanks for the comments. I am not able to identify the wires. But they do seem to use Teflon as insulator and are stranded but kind of stiff. I'll definitely think twice before changing them.

I'll certainly report back with my mod results.
