I think if you search through the archive you'll find some of DanW's posts that describe what resistor(s), diodes and caps he replaced. I updated my P-3A's PS diodes to HexFreds but haven't changed the PS caps or input resistor yet.
The only choke I used was the filter built into the IEC female power connector on my upgraded power supply. I run mine off of my power plant so I'm not too concerned with additional line filtering.
