Just got this dac, and in stock form it sounds fairly good. From previous posts, it seems this is a good dac to mod. However, I can't find any info on which of caps and resistor should I change. I know from Dan W list of mods the signal resistors, and coupling caps, but there are a lot of them, so which should I start. I'll start withCaps:
2 1000uf/35v caps
caps closes to the dac and digital receiver
but I can't find any caps in the output stageResistor:
just change the one between the op-amp and RCA out, quite a few. Also, the cheap wallwart transformer I got measures 10.7V output instead of 9V, and the dac is pretty hot after I run it a while, is this the problem. Also, the spec called for 2.5A but the wallwart reads 1000mA, not too good ??
Thanks...chuck T
