Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I am currently using single runs of 14/2 awg copper tinned wire to each speaker, Left and Right, around 15 feet long each.
The speaker Negative terminals on the amp are common to each other.
I was thinking rather than 2 runs of a 15 foot pair of wires, I could run a single wire in series from the amp Negative to the left speaker Negative, and then to the right speaker Negative.
Two Parallel Positive wires and one Negative Series wire.
The Positive wires would stay the original 15 foot lengths each (2).
The Series Negative wire would be 15 feet long combined total length (1).
This is a 50% less resistance concerning the Negative wire.
I am thinking better sound with less wire rather than more...
I am wondering about any possible electrical advantages, disadvantages
to this.
Has anyone tried anything similar?
Tweak I must....
