Take 2 on the Taket Batpure Supertweeter

I wrote a few months ago about trying a pair of Taket Batpure Supertweeters on my Wilson Sophia 2 (see original thread below). I concluded back then that it fell into the different, not sure if it's better category. After a longer period, I ended up preferring the better density of sound without it than the better delineared and higher contrast sound with it, and took it off the system.

Lately, I tried a different implementation. I put it on a small metal plinth screwed onto the top port of my speakers (such that I don't have to stick anything to the surface of the speakers). Since the back of the sophia is slanted, the supertweeters are now pointing up at a slightly forward angle (see pic). I was inspired by speakers such as the Neat Ultimantum series which have upfiring supertweeters. The effect is kinda interesting. Instead of the higher contrast sound when firing forward, the effect now is as if someone turned up the lights a bit at the back of the stage, so you see further into it. It's not necessarily deeper, just more highlighted. Width seems to be have slightly increased, but again at the slight expense of density. As in my previous try, bass seems to have slightly less grunt. I start to wonder if it's an acoustic effect or if it is more of an electronic effect on the system akin to adding something extra like a Zobel network (e.g. Harmonix Enacoms), but I guess I'll never know.

My conclusion? Don't have one yet, but it is nonetheless fun to try and have a slightly different flavor to my good old system now and then.

If I am to try to tweak the level of the supertweeter without driving them with a separate amp, is it possible to add a volume pot or a resistor socket? (BTW, they supposedly have a rather low sensitivity already) If so, is there any specific type or value that I should look at?
