Thank you for sharing these two ideas. Perhaps external plywood housing for the toroidal transformer and separately each speaker crossover unit would best isolate the signal paths from the degradation of magnetism and vibration.
It would be interesting to learn whether any member, who has done this, considers that the improvement in sound quality justifies the investment in time, energy and expense.
