RE: Question about famous Hammond tweak

How does a 300mA @ 800VDC spec'd rating compare to a 1A @ 120VAC load ?

- Current is increased by 3.3X.
- Voltage is decreased by 6.6X.
- Load is changed from DC to AC (DC is normally spec'd less than AC).
- 300mA @ 800VDC is 242 watts
- 1A @ 120VAC is 120 watts (half the load ?)

Would this put the 1A @ 120VAC current well within the safety margin of the Hammond 192L Choke rated in VDC?

TIA
.
