i agree with all the above!
i am working on a custom built crossover for a customer and that turned out to be the exact thing he was looking for. not only does it prevent oscilation, it also can reduce PS noise as well. you might perceive a blacker noise floor- ie: deeper silence.
thats what i find to be the main advantage.
but yes, observe polarity and grounding or you'll be having fried chips!!!!
