Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I'm hoping you can answer a couple of questions for me. This is the circuit for the input stage to my mono block power amp:1. Am I correct in my assumption that pins 2 & 3 of IC101 are used on one leg of the balanced input signal to act as a phase splitter?
2. Do you have any experience with the 55320 opamp? It's apparently a dual, bipolar 741-type device. The amplifier in whole sounds somewhat hard and strident. I believe this chip may be causing much of this.
3. Should most 8-pin dual high-performance opamps be compatible in this circuit? Can you recommend your favorite?
Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise.
