One way to improve the safety factor for the golf ball set up is to place the golf balls into something like snapple bottle caps, which can be securely mounted. This way, the golf balls can only travel so far, before stopping. The platform on which the golf balls are mounted must be absolutely level, naturally, for best performance. BTW, my table is 6 DOF.
