Hi AudioTweaker,
Building a good 12V/30A low-noise supply is actually quite
difficult and requires some form of electronic regulation
in addition to big filter caps. Even if you copy a design,
getting parts is no easy feat. For roughly $150, you can buy
a new one which will probably cost you less than the transformers!I have used Astron supplies and they work very well (http://www.astroncorp.com/) but there are many others
available too. Surplus supplies are an even better deal.Best of luck,
