Did you add fine grain sand? The proper way is to put lead shot first to about 4/5 full, add sand, about 5-6 months later, the level of sand will sink because it fills up the tiny space, then add more sand till level up. The result is remarkable, at the end, my friend help me seal up the opening to prevent me getting lead poisoning.
