I've seen this mentioned by others before, so please don't take this personally. If I accept that microseismic vibrations are happening in the floor, then why aren't they happening in the ceiling, which is connected to the floor by the walls and in the cable at the end of the string connected to the ceiling? Are you positing that the wavelength of these vibrations is too long to excite the (relatively) short string? An honest question, no flames or other disprect intended.
