Re: NFB to small tubes to be disconnected when triode mode.

Not that I know VTLs but no one has answered, so perhaps I can help. Assuming you are now using the amp and it sounds okey, you probarly should leave the NFB disconnected.

Amps that require loop NFB have very high voltage gain when driven open loop, or without feedback if you like. Some amps are built with user selectable amounts of NFB and have relatively low open loop gain so when selecting so called 0dB of NFB, it still isn't amplifying too much.

So if your amp plays music at normal levels with the volume at typical positions, it's probably right as is.

Perhaps the amp uses more local feedback instead of overall loop NFB when in triode mode, hence the feedback connection at the output of tranny would not be needed. Or the lower gain of triodes compared to pentodes and the likes give the required gain without the need for loop NFB.

If the amp is not working, well thats another story and you need to tell us more...
