RonThe only time I have seen (or heard)this type of behavior from a transformer is when the load is oscillating at an audible frequency. Do you have an oscilloscope to check for oscillation in the Power supply or other circuitry. The fact that the noise is at a high frequency indicates that a large high frequency current is flowing causing a mechanical resonance to be excited in the transformer.
