Actually, the picture came out perfectly in the Email notification which I received. I did remove the pot and was rewarded with no sound. The enclosed drawing looks to be about how the circuit is layed out with the exception of two three pin sockets in parallell. I am assuming one for the left and one for the right. I'll give the wire bypass a try and see what happens.
