Thanks for your comment about the cap battery-bypass. A cap is necessary to make sure the battery can still deliver power when an HF transient comes along in the music; the guy that told me to change to a film cap said that it would have far less of a sonic signature than an electrolytic - the issue is ... how much should you use? :-))
