I was with you till 'high revving'. What was redline? 7500? I saw Chevy 302 smallblocks with that rev limit in the first Z-28 Camaro. The car would go to redline in 4th at over 130mph.

But, for redline I haven't seen another to match my Honda S-2000 at 9000rpm. And at 2hp per cubic inch, your 'vette would have to mange over 700hp, and while race ready, wouldn't work well on the street.

I never got into the aftermarket stuff for the Honda, but over 300hp is certainly within reason. I guess that would go to redline in 6th, at about 165mph. Stock? It'll only go to 8k, which is over 145. For only 2000cc, tough to beat! I'd like to see a V-8 version in an NSX.
