As I understand it, all of the equipment will end up sharing a common ground. So, if I am getting this, you are suggesting it is better if that common ground not be in the same quad box, but rather to have the grounds meet (as it were) back at the circuit breaker.

I take it you have no view on 2 versus 3 lines. I am sorting leaning towards three --
For me two would be the minimum. One for digital the other for analog.
As for three if you do it now you won't say later I wish I had of....
Cost? Copper wire is not cheap anymore. $144.00 for a 250ft roll of NM-B 10-2 W/GRD at Home Depot.
