I've got squash balls under my turntable and the are remarkably effective in that application.
Under speakers, especially ones as big as your Klipschs, you would probably need about 6-8 under each speaker, as 4 under my TT (about 40 pounds) compress quite a bit. I don't imagine you would need any nuts under the balls...once the are mass loaded, they compress and will not roll around.For the money involved, I would suggest you try it and see...let us know how it works out for you.
