I was working on some audio projects this weekend. For the first time, I had to unplug my new Oyaide P079 plug from the Oyaide R1 wall outlet.
Wow!!! I thought I was going to pull the outlet box out of the wall to get the grip to release. This was really something. Fortunately, it did let go, but I was quite surprised at the grip of this combination. And it repeated every time I unplugged that baby.
My previous plugs into that outlet had been Furu F11Gs and though they grip well, it's nothing like the Oyaide to Oyaide combo.
I'm not one who believes that ALL the positive sonics of plugs and outlets are related to grip. I have always figured that's only one factor, the base metal and plating being significantly more important. But this was a first for me and a minor revelation.
