I have a Cary AES-DJH preamp. I'm thinking about replacing the capacitors, but wondered if doing that would improve the sound. It currently has:
(2) Solen 10mF 400V +-5%
(1) Jensen Pure Copper Foil, silver leadout, 0.22mF, 630V (probably a keeper)
(2) Multicap 5mF, 200v +-10%
(1) Nichicon 200mF, 25v
(2) Solen 2mF, 400v
If I replaced these with high quality caps, what brand(s) would you recommend and how significant would the improvement be? Should I jump each cap with a low value cap also? Room inside the preamp appears to be tight. Preamp has all point-to-point wiring.
