I tried this thread on Digital, but had no replies, so I'm trying here.
I have a Rotel RCD-1072 and I'm considering mods now and wait a couple years to get a $2k DAC + computer vs. getting a $1k DAC now to go with stock 1072. What has worked for you? I hear the 1072 isn't too good with jitter, coming out from the digital out.
I'm considering the Burson mods, particularly the opamp. Has anyone tried it? What was the sound improvement?
FWIW, rest of system is B&W 804S, large gauge magnet wire for speakers cable, McIntosh MC275 amp, Lamm LL2D preamp, cheapest Nordost ICs.
Thanks!
Horacio
