bypass with 3 inches long leads ... will it make things worse?

I want to bypass the input caps of my amp. However, there is no adjacent space to accomdation for the bypass caps. I plan to use 3 inches long lead to connect the bypass caps. Will it have the same result as direct bypass? or it will make thing worse?
