Curiosity got the best of me and I purchased 3 of the Hoffman 193L 5 henry chokes. I also purchased 3 IEC adapters which allow me to plug in the chokes just a few inches away from the IEC port without actually soldering the leads directly to the IEC.
I hooked one up to my Oppo / Nuforce blueray player and one up to my 73" Mitsubishi DLP TV with good results. I then hooked one up to my Genesis G-928 subwoofer and while playing it made a horrible loud cracking sound which went away as soon as I removed the choke, I wonder what could be going wrong here?
I am using PS Audio AC-12 Perfect Wave power cords on everything and run everything into a PS Audio PPP conditioner which is run off of a PS Audio Premier Soloist on a dedicated line.
