The case is in total maybe 1 inch taller than a tranny. Maybe a bit more but not much.
Maybe I should go "multi-layer". In other words, attach a second smaller case onto the top and rear of the case I have and put the trannies there. I've seen some tube amps that do that, doesn't look too bad.
But it will be very difficult for me to make that look good.
