In general, I like the small flat tip rather than the round tips. And use wet sponge to clean the tip, along with steel wool. And use a BIG flat tip on a Weller W100P iron to solder star ground to the chassis. I use steel wool to clean the area of the chassis where the star ground is going.Tiny alligator clips onto the bodies of heat sensitive devices, helps dissipate potentially damaging heat while soldering.
