My thoughts on the matter.

The approach is to use a compact filter to overcome problems that originate in the transmission line behavior of the cable. This allows the sections of the cable attached to the filter to resonate freely. While it may block some RF noise from getting through, other pathways allow the resonating cable sections to participate in the audio system noise environment.

Inductors have their own sonic characters, just as all real components. As long as they don't cause the amp to become unstable, there is no reason why they cannot permit good sound.

The larger issue is whether a 40 KHz corner frequency is audible. There will be some phase shift within the audio band, and some users may not like the effect.

The R-C dampers discussed here are not filters because they do not stand between the source and load. I don't know if the Transparent filters include sections to do similar things.

My opinion is that R-C dampers with unfiltered cables are more likely to give satisfaction than the filtered variety. However, this is a matter of personal taste as well as engineering, so I won't rule out Transparent cables for any particular application.

Better performance may be had with designs that address the resonance problems directly. Resonance modes include common as well as normal modes. The filter may block ultrasonic normal mode noise, but cannot stop common-mode noise. R-C dampers also affect only the normal-mode resonances.
