"When I was about twelve, I had hearing loss and had very large wax balls flushed out of each ear. It gave me much better hearing but no one said anything about needing to do this once in a while. Much later a doctor again noticed a build up and again flushed big balls out. He added that I should get a water syringe and mineral oil drops and clean my own ears. I have been doing this about once a year for years. Only recently did I discover that I have grandchildren with narrow ear channels and wax build ups. I suspect this is hereditary."
