Most colleges of music require their students to give recitals. These are often free to the public. The professors often get involved, so you will usually have some comparisons within a single evenings program. There will be string, woodwind, and brass offerings every semester--maybe vocal also.
This is a great and usually very inexpensive way to calibrate your ears.
