Where else ya gonna get four plastic water jugs for a buck? Probably built to a mystical ratio of HxWxD, no less?
And who knows but they may have some sonic effect when filled with water? Damp some resonances, maybe?
Or more likely resonate to emphasize certain frequencies. The ancient Greeks did use a water-based acoustic relay system in some of their theaters. Big urns of water were placed along the aisles, to resonate with and somewhat amplify the voices from the stage. Never know until you try it.
