RE: OPA1611

I pulled a set of opa1611s on a pair of BrownDog-like adapters from my "collection" and listened to them to refresh my memory. They were installed in my heavily modified Magnavox CDB-560 in place of my hand made analog modules of the POOGE persuasion.
In my system, which tends to the "bright" side I found them to be nicely dynamic, with good, well-articulated bass, detailed mids and extended yet non-agressive highs. Overall a pretty neutral presentation with, if anything, a bit of extra warmth.
I'm still waiting on my evaluation sets of opa1612s (they were backordered until April)
Of course, YMMV depending on a myriad of factors, not to mention personal preferences.
