Recently I read that AC conditioners/filters go bad after some years. If someone was to buy an older one with the idea of replacing key or "worn" parts (a) is that even doable conceptually? and (b) what parts would be the first that should be replaced? I realize there are several different designs that have different parts, but I am looking for generalities. I wouldn't think that transformers, chokes and inductors would need replacing. MOVs and possibly resistors, but I have never looked inside one of these to see what parts there are.
