RE: Has Anyone tried Bybee magic mini interconnect bullets?

Bybee stuff is pretty controversial. Some claim huge benefits, while others think it’s snake oil. Me, I’m in between. I’ve owned the Speaker Bullets and Golden Goddess interconnect filters. Initially I thought they really helped—mainly in the areas of treble smoothness, bass articulation, and midrange clarity. But, as with many other tweaks in my system, I decided to revisit them, and didn’t like what I heard. They surely did change the sound—no doubt about that—but IMO not for the better. They rounded off the treble way too much, sucking the life and energy and sparkle out of the uppermost octaves. It wasn’t subtle.

I guess initially I liked the increased treble “smoothness,” but that smoothness, upon closer inspection, was not what I thought it was. The increased sense of clarity and bass definition also weren’t nearly as pronounced as I thought they were at first. In the end, I sold all of my Bybees and made a nice chunk of change off them. I’m glad I got the chance to experiment with them, but am also glad I made the decision to revisit them.

This is a public service announcement . . . WITH GUITARS!!!
