Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I'm sure this has been covered a thousand times and has gone all over the map with different viewpoints, but what is a good way to isolate an outlet from the rest of the house?
I have had to bypass my phono and linestage grounds to eliminate a buzz in my system. The amp is still grounded and though I still have a little hum coming from the phone pre I'd like to somehow isolate the outlets I'm using for the whole system. Everything is tubed and I'm not going to use aftermarket power stations or supplies.
Will just adding a separate breaker and running a dedicated line isolate and quiet the buzz or will that not work?
