I have a wood (pressboard with an oak veneer)stereo stand I use to support my turntable and house my phono preamp.
Like many of these older stands it sits flat on the floor.Would I derive any sonic benefit by installing spikes near the four corners of the stand?
The stand presently sits on thin foam backed carpet on the cement floor in my basement.
Also, years ago I removed the thin back cover of the stand to make cabling easier and it is now somewhat prone to side to side wobble. How can I stabilize the unit most effectively while retaining access to the cables from the back of the stand?
